It’s Law and Order: 1800. In January 1800, a young woman is found drowned in the Manhattan Well. Suspicion immediately fell on a fellow inhabitant of her Quaker cousin’s boardinghouse, Levi Weeks, a man her family claimed had been walking out with her and had lured her to her death on the night of December 22 under the pretense of an elopement. But had he? Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr team up to defend the accused murderer at the same time they’re preparing to tear each other to shreds in the 1800 New York elections.
And the craziest thing? It’s all true. Such is the mystery at the heart of Lauren Willig’s latest novel, “The Girl from Greenwich Street”.
Please join us for a fun, insightful discussion with Lauren about “The Girl from Greenwich Street” as well as her journey from HLS and the life of a Big Law corporate litigator to being an award-winning novelist and best-selling author.
